About me

I'm a Ph.D. student and research assistant in Air Transportation at Korea Aerospace University. My research interests include airport operations, air traffic management, aviation simulation, and decision support systems. Airports change minute by minute as aircraft, passengers, and resources interact. I'm interested in understanding how these dynamics shape operational performance. My research spans airport operations analysis, passenger queue forecasting, and aircraft trajectory analysis. I use operational data to study passenger queue dynamics and aircraft movement patterns, and simulation to evaluate airport capacity and operational performance. These experiences have motivated me to explore how individual operational processes interact and how changes in one process affect the wider system.

My research goal is to develop integrated modeling and optimization methods that connect forecasting with operational decision-making. I aim to understand how demand, aircraft operations, and facility capacity jointly shape system performance, and to evaluate strategies that improve operations as conditions change. I am also interested in extending these methods to advanced air mobility, where aircraft and vertiport operations must be coordinated across a network. By accounting for uncertainty and considering both safety and efficiency, I hope to help operators anticipate problems, evaluate alternatives, and improve the experience of the people who operate and use air transportation systems.

Research interests: Airport Operations, Air Traffic Management, Aviation Safety, Advanced Air Mobility, Integrated Simulation and Optimization, and Predictive Decision Support.
